Autogrill and Bistrot represent a concept of modern gastronomy with more than 20 retail outlets in airports, stations and motorways, city centers, shopping malls and factory outlet. Since October 30, Autogrill has opened a new Bistrot restaurant in Frankfurt’s airport. It’s a mix of tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and focus on sustainability thanks to a careful selection of local producers. Consistent with what has been done in all the other Bistrot, high quality local products – from the area around Frankfurt – will be used here. In particular, meat will come from the “Walz” butchery, that owns its farm in the Mainz region. Offenbach’s Cheese House “Abbate” will instead provide dairy specialties: a variety of cheeses which will serve as ingredients for sandwiches, pizzas, and burgers. The region’s traditional apple-based cult drink, “Hessischer Apfelwein”, will come from the famous Possmann cellars in Frankfurt. Moreover, Bistrot’s bakers will make bread and pizza with yeast in a real bakery on sight, for the curious visitors who will observe them at work.
The project
Bistrot’s whole design concept contributes to creating a unique experience: a place where travellers will be happy to stay for a moment of rest on their work or pleasure journey. The privileged central location in the connecting part of airport terminals makes Bistrot visible and accessible from all sides. The central island shape allows Bistrot to be recognizable by passengers, while the distinctive industrial design conforms to the recent airport area restyling, creating an extremely welcoming environment.
