The numbers and the jury
Divided into 10 categories and 3 special prizes, 191 items from 112 companies have been voted by a jury composed of US retailers, importers, distributors and brokers coming from the Italianfood.net and Fancy Food Show networks. The organizers accepted maximum two candidate products from each participant. The products had to be new to the US market or launched during the previous 24 months. The winners were selected from 10 product categories. Three top awards will go to three special categories: Packaging, Innovation and Sustainability.
The goal
The awards have been created to reward the most creative and versatile food products that better respond to growing demand for certified quality, natural ingredients, and taste. The Italian Food Awards will help US retail and food service operators discover the storytelling and the value of authentic Italian products. The consumer is becoming much more aware of the food that is available from the many provinces and regions of Italy and is seeking experience through food, said Phil Kafarakis, President at Specialty Food Association (SFA).
The event
The awarding ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 25, at 4:30 pm, in the Lounge of the Italian Pavilion (SFFS, Javits Center, New York). The event will be realized in collaboration with the SFA and Universal Marketing.
