Eataly has just opened its fourth shop and restaurant in the USA. After Eataly NYC Flatiron, Eataly Chicago and the most recent Eataly NYC Downtown, now it’s the turn of Boston, inside Prudential Center in the typical neighborhood of Back Bay. More than 4.000 square metres in a three-floors block are dedicated to food purchasing, tasting, production and educational, following Eataly’s characteristic slogan: “The better you eat, the better you live”. This is the more “European” city I ever visited in the United States – says Nicola Farinetti, Ceo of Eataly USA – as regards people, buildings and way of life. The North End neighborhood, Boston’s Little Italy, won my heart making me feel at home. Every Eataly shop is dedicated to a particular issue. At Eataly Boston (open every day, 7 to 23) the sea and its products are the protagonists. Entering the shop, customers are welcomed by images of New England fishermen’s community and by the description of local fish different kinds. Eataly Boston has set very high standards for its raw materials selection: freshness, good quality, seasonality, tracing and focus on local communities. Most of the fish comes directly from New England: Eataly formed a partnership with local suppliers that every morning offer “the day’s catch”, respecting the seasonality and thus ensuring the best quality and environmental sustainability. Eataly’s fish cuisine will be guided by chef Barbara Lynch, who already runs seven acclaimed restaurants in Boston with her Barbara Lynch Group.
GASTRONOMIC PROPOSALS – Eataly Boston is proposing a complete Italian food experience, with four restaurants, a Lavazza and a Vergnano bar, a Venchi chocolate space, a rich market and a cuisine school. Customers can taste Neapolitan Rossopomodoro pizza, a pasta dish or a fish-based recipe in the informal restaurant “La Pizza & La Pasta” and “Il Pesce”. “La Piazza” – a perfect place for a snack and a drink – hosts “La Cucina”, a restaurant dedicated to Italian regional cuisine. Each season will see a different chef proposing his particular recipe, using his favourite local ingredients: December will be dedicated to the white truffle from Alba. On the third floor, “Terra” is Eataly Boston’s gourmet restaurant which will open to the public in the winter of 2017. The “Carretto dei Cannoli” is another exclusive innovation of Eataly Boston. Here customers can taste authentic Sicilian desserts, filled at the moment with ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit. “La Creperia” offers sweet or salted crepes, filled with Eataly Alti Cibi. Moreover, at Eataly Boston customers can watch on sight production labs dedicated to bread, mozzarella, pasta and ice cream, in addition to Eataly’s Cuisine School which offers a rich programme of educational shows.
