Italia del Gusto Consortium: at Expo to taste the best of Italian food

Brand companies and small producers together, sharing the same challenge. To say it with Oscar Farinetti’s words, the important thing is to have something beautiful to tell, a piece of made in Italy to proudly display to visitors. From that philosophy the partnership between Eataly and Italia del Gusto was born, the private consortium that includes many of the most successful companies of Italian food and wine. From Aia to Valsoia, all united by the common goal of increasing exports and protecting Italian products internationally. In the space managed by the chain of Italian food, there is also the Italia del Gusto restaurant, where big players can participate at the Exposition, by offering the best Italian cuisine.

“From our point of view it is right to be at Expo – said Giovanni Rana, president of Italia del Gusto –. It is, indeed, a unique opportunity to demonstrate the advantages of the products and exhibit them in a winning way, underlining among other things that we are the real Italians. The World Exposition will, therefore, be a breath of fresh air, contributing considerably to enhance the name of Made in Italy, while abroad we continue to be hurt badly by counterfeiting and imitation. The idea of a synergy between large and small brand companies, where the first help the others, is the basis of the consortium since its birth, because otherwise the latter would never have the opportunity to succeed. Our task therefore, is also to support them and help them establish as they deserve. For this we will continue to study the most appropriate formulas to bring them around the world with us”.

In the Eataly hall, along with Italia del Gusto and the regional restaurants, there are Rossopomodoro pizzeria and Fratelli Maioli piadineria. In addition, the Spazio Bollicine of Ferrari and Nutella Concept Bar, Caffè Bar Vino Libero and seven special corners. A complete selection, able to enhance the features of Italian gastronomy and the values of biodiversity.

“For the first time –  explains Alberto Volpe, general manager of Italia del Gusto – our restaurant caters for consumers. The collaboration with Farinetti is team gives us an important showcase, with certainly a high number of visitors; it is an ideal setting to decline Italian food at its best and present the innovations of the 15 participating member companies. Considering the theme of the Expo, one of the main focuses is obviously aimed at sustainability and the many innovations of our players. In the space available to us, they can therefore tell their stories”.
