The recent upswing in the American market, reflected in the dollar’s historic strength against the euro, has convinced many Italian agroindustry entrepreneurs that it’s time for a sales drive overseas. Toschi Vignola is one of these and has decided to establish an American company – Toschi Usa based in New York – in order to keep a better eye on the huge US market, especially liquor exports which are heavily regulated in the Usa. The new branch will open this year, which is Toschi’s 70th anniversary year. The company closed 2014 with a turnover of 30 million euros, 1.5% growth compared to 2013, and a total of 1.15 million kilos of fruit processed. Exports grew by 11% in 60 countries around the world. In terms of product offer, the company from Savignano sul Panaro (Modena) is currently focusing on products for ice-cream parlours, where the international franchising format for Mr Donuts has also been developed. Among other Italian companies that process fruit, Zuegg has also expressed interest in growing on the American market and company chairman Oswald Zuegg had mentioned the idea of purchasing a production plant in loco.
