Nastro Azzurro, the premium brand of Peroni company, is the Italian beer more exported worldwide, in over 70 countries. Nastro Azzurro beer’ export sales rose 8% from january through the end of august 2015 as compared to the same time last year, according to the mid- year data release of the industry. In terms of production, “Peroni company is planning to overcome 1,7 million hectoliters during the second half of 2015”, official spokesman said. The latest numbers continue a yearslong uptick for the Italian beer segment, which grabbed the score of 2 million hectoliters exported for the first time last year.
The Italian company Peroni, headquartered in Bergamo, joins the multinational SabMiller group and has in its portfolio Nastro Azzurro beer brand. “The continue growth of demand in Anglo-Saxon countries, such as Uk and Us”- a company’s official spokesman said-“illustrates that higher quality and premium ingredients are key elements to succeed. Although competition in the sector is certainly growing and the need for brewers is to differentiate and produce world- class, high- quality beer is more important than ever”. But as the number of brewers continues to swell and more beer brands hit the market place, there is a growing concern among some in the industry about making sure the overall quality of beer doesn’t suffer. This is the reason why, for Peroni company, the use of local Italian ingredients and the collaboration with all players involved in the value chain, remains the key drivers moving forward.
