The global journey of All’Antico Vinaio reaches a significant milestone as the Florentine street food icon officially lands in Australia. The Italian street food brand, founded by Tommaso Mazzanti, has opened its first location in the heart of Sydney, situated in Pitt Street near the vibrant Circular Quay district.
An international growth strategy
This expansion marks the brand’s entry into its fourth continent. A strategic partnership with MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen and the Fladgate Hospitality Group supports the project. Allen, who discovered the unique quality of the Italian schiacciata during a visit to Florence, emphasized the brand’s commitment to ingredient excellence.

Authentic Italian quality down under
To ensure the consistency and flavor that made the brand famous, the Sydney location imports key ingredients directly from Italy, including 16-month aged Prosciutto di Parma PDO, buffalo mozzarella, and premium cheeses. The sandwiches are prepared daily with fresh dough, while all sauces and pesto are crafted on-site. The menu also features an exclusive “Sydney” sandwich, showcasing premium Wagyu bresaola paired with Parmigiano Reggiano PDO shavings.

Reflecting on the success of his family business, which evolved from a local shop near Palazzo Vecchio in Florence to an international powerhouse with over 60 locations, Mazzanti stated, “Entering the Australian market represents an incredible honor. We are committed to exporting the true essence of Made in Italy, maintaining the simplicity and passion that have guided us since 1991.”

A global success story
With a presence now spanning Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Oceania, All’Antico Vinaio continues to solidify its position as a global ambassador for Italian culinary traditions. The company remains dedicated to its original values of authenticity and high-quality sourcing, even as it scales its operations worldwide.
