Italian excellence in the dairy sector is taking center stage at the Summer Fancy Food Show, where Parmigiano Reggiano PDO and Grana Padano PDO are leveraging recent economic achievements to further expand their footprint in the North American market.
Growth in the US market
Data from the first five months of 2026 confirms the United States as the primary export destination for Parmigiano Reggiano. The PDO has recorded a 2.5% increase in exports compared to the same period in 2025, reaching a total volume of approximately 7,000 tons. This consistent performance builds on the success of 2025, a year that saw the sector reach a total consumer turnover of 3.96 billion euros, with production exceeding 4.19 million wheels and international sales accounting for over 50% of the total volume marketed.

Strategic engagement in New York
The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium is meeting with key industry players and distributors to outline its future development strategy for the region. Simultaneously, the Grana Padano Protection Consortium is doubling down on its promotional efforts. In collaboration with the media partner GialloZafferano, they are hosting a series of live showcooking sessions featuring digital creators and culinary experts, designed to demonstrate the versatility of the cheese to the American palate.
