Panealba: quality bread substitutes

Natural recipes and Mediterranean flavours have allowed the Piedmont company to penetrate in foreign markets and to become leader in Italy in baked croutons
Panealba: quality bread substitutes

Present in 50 countries around the world, Panealba gives importance to the export business (which represents 50% of revenue) and has significant potential. Distribution is concentrated within the European Community, both for logistical reasons, and for affinity in consumption habits.

The exported products are the same as the Italian market with the same recipes, production process and quality, but often the packaging varies, sometimes becoming more ‘valuable’ according to specific requests of some customers and their specific distribution reality (specialized food shops, catering, etc.).

“Quality made in Italy is appreciated in all continents – said Gabriele Tesio, export manager at Panealba – and abroad we make the most of being well known in Italy as a producer of high quality products. Among the breadsticks certainly the best selling flavour/ingredient is that of olive oil, followed by black olives, but also the garlic flavour is very popular, especially in northern Europe. In general, however, the foreign consumer wants to find the Mediterranean cuisine flavours in our products. “

There are also numerous private labels products produced for foreign retailers; among these, Tesco in the UK and Poland, Carrefour, Marks & Spencer, Auchan, Edeka.

Meanwhile, I am studying a number of new product lines that will increase the company’s production capacity and the introduction of significant innovation in terms of technology and process, through which it will be possible to produce new types of products and new variations of flavours which are difficult to obtain at the moment.
