Alexandre Bompard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carrefour, announced what he described as “a strong performance for Carrefour in 2025,” highlighting solid commercial momentum in Europe despite more challenging market conditions in Latin America. “We are publishing very good 2025 results today, with a notable improvement in France and Spain, but more difficult market conditions in Latin America,” Bompard said.

STRATEGIC MILESTONES MARK A TRANSFORMATIONAL YEAR FOR CARREFOUR

Last year was shaped by a series of major milestones in the Group’s ongoing transformation. Carrefour completed the integration of the Cora & Match banners in France, launched its European purchasing platform Concordis, acquired minority interests in Carrefour Brazil, and finalized the disposal of Carrefour Italy.

These moves were followed in early 2026 by the announcement of the sale of Carrefour Romania, underscoring the retailer’s continued portfolio optimization and geographic refocusing.

MARGIN TARGET ACHIEVED IN FRANCE

Against this backdrop, Carrefour delivered solid commercial momentum. In France, the Group reached a 3% operating margin on its historical scope — a long-standing objective.

Our commercial momentum is strong, notably with the achievement of a 3% operating margin in France on our historical scope — a long-term goal that confirms the relevance of our model — and with a very clear improvement in our performance in Spain,” Bompard stated.

The achievement marks a significant validation of Carrefour’s business model in its domestic market, where competition remains intense, and consumer demand continues to evolve.

CONFIDENT OUTLOOK FOR 2026

Looking ahead, Bompard struck an optimistic tone on market dynamics and the Group’s strategic trajectory. “We are approaching 2026 with confidence in market dynamics. In this context, we will present tomorrow, at our Capital Market Day, our strategic vision and our value-creation ambitions for the years ahead,” he said.

He concluded by thanking stakeholders: “Thank you to our customers for their unwavering trust. And to all our teams who everywhere proudly carry our colors.”

With its transformation accelerating and its margin objectives met in key markets, Carrefour now turns its focus toward its next strategic horizon — a roadmap encapsulated in Bompard’s closing message: “On the road to Carrefour 2030!
