Wine Paris, the international trade show for wines and spirits, opened today at Paris Expo (February 10-12, 2025) with a record 5,300 exhibitors from 54 wine-producing nations, marking a 29% increase from the previous year. The event, held at Paris Porte de Versailles, spans six halls, three of which are dedicated to international producers.
Attendance is expected to exceed 50,000 visitors from 143 countries, with Italy securing its most prominent presence to date. For the first time, the country has been allocated an entire pavilion dedicated exclusively to its wines, alongside occupying 40% of additional exhibition space. A strong representation of Italian wine consortia, including Valpolicella, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino, Etna, Collio, Bolgheri, and many others underscores Italy’s push to strengthen its position in global markets.
With support from the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the country is capitalizing on Wine Paris’ growing stature as an international wine trading hub.
Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA, emphasized the agency’s role in expanding Italian wine exports: “We are committed to helping Italian wine producers scale their international reach through targeted initiatives and business matchmaking. Wine Paris is a strategic platform for growth, and Italy’s presence this year is particularly dynamic, attracting new buyers and fostering commercial opportunities. Our goal is to bridge supply and demand, connecting Italian producers with key global markets.”
Zoppas also highlighted ITA’s collaboration with Veronafiere to drive further expansion, citing the upcoming Vinitaly Chicago as a key initiative to engage North American buyers who may not traditionally attend European trade shows.
