The Prosciutto di Carpegna PDO Consortium expects a 5% rise in revenues for 2024, driven by “increased exports and product diversification,” according to Marco Pulici, Vice President of the Consortium and Director of the Prosciutto di Carpegna Factory, speaking to Pambianco Wine&Food newsmagazine.

In 2023, the company’s performance remained on par with the previous year, reporting revenues of €15 million and sales volumes of 888 tons. Despite a drop in volume, the focus shifted from whole hams to pre-sliced products, “targeting higher quality and commanding a higher average price, which allowed turnover to remain stable,” Pulici explained.

Exports, which make up roughly 7% of total sales, are concentrated in markets such as the United States, Australia, Belgium, and France. The Consortium aims to boost this share, aided by EU funding secured for 2024-2026, which will support marketing efforts in the U.S. and Australia.
