DalterFood Group reported consolidated revenue of €159 million in 2023, an 8.8% increase over the previous year, with 85% of its earnings driven by international markets. The Italian dairy group’s strong performance was bolstered by robust sales across key markets, with France, Germany, the UK, and Spain remaining the top importers of Italian cheese. Among the standout performers were the group’s foreign subsidiaries: Dalter UK saw sales rise to €47 million, up from €41.3 million in 2022, while VIP Italia (Germany) surged from €53.1 million to €61.5 million. DalterFood Group, which operates in 32 countries, continues to expand its workforce, now numbering 181 employees.
“Exports of Italian cheeses grew by 6.9% in 2023, surpassing 636,000 tonnes. Our group’s results, particularly in the UK and Germany, are strong and aligned with market trends across all the countries we operate,” said Andrea Guidi, DalterFood Group’s General Manager. “Our long-standing expertise in the dairy sector, coupled with a commitment to quality and sustainability, enables us to meet the evolving demands of markets that increasingly prioritize sustainability and product traceability, especially with our Parmigiano Reggiano PDO.”
DALTERFOOD GROUP’S OUTLOOK FOR 2024
DalterFood Group enters 2024 amidst an improving, still challenging, macroeconomic environment. Despite these complexities, the group anticipates continued positive momentum.
The Emilia-based dairy producer is distinguished by its strong focus on environmental, ethical, and social sustainability. “These values are integral to our company’s DNA, and we manifest them through tangible actions across all dimensions of sustainability,” Guidi noted. “Our controlled, integrated, and sustainable supply chain for Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, certified for animal welfare under the ClassyFarm protocol, exemplifies our commitment. We remain dedicated to maintaining other key certifications for our production facilities and dairies, including BRC, IFS, FDA, Mountain Product Quality, and Organic.”
