Ferrero continues to reinforce its European industrial strategy with a significant new investment plan in France. The Alba-based group has announced a 60 million euro injection aimed at expanding its Nutella and Nutella Biscuits production capabilities and modernizing logistics, underscoring a long-standing commitment to the French market, where it has operated for over six decades.
A new hub for Nutella Biscuits
A core element of this strategic development involves the Nieppe plant in the Hauts-de-France region, owned by the affiliated company Biscuits Delacre. A dedicated 30 million euro investment will transform this facility into a unique, centralized production hub for the iconic Nutella Biscuits, which have rapidly become a global success for the group.
Industrial modernization and logistics
The remaining 30 million euros are earmarked for the facility in Villers-Ecalles, Normandy, recognized as the world’s largest production site for Nutella. This plant alone currently accounts for approximately 26% of total global production. The funds will be divided equally, with 15 million euros allocated for comprehensive industrial modernization and another 15 million directed toward a new, highly professional packaging line dedicated to the 3kg format of the legendary cocoa-hazelnut spread.

Commitment to the French territory
This initiative is part of the broader Choose France summit, an event specifically designed to promote the economic attractiveness of the country to international investors. The project also encompasses the completion of two key logistical warehouses in Cleon and Barentin. As noted by Mauro De Felip, CEO of Ferrero France, the country remains a cornerstone of the company’s industrial and logistics strategy in Europe. Today, the group employs 1,400 people in France, sustaining an ecosystem of over 11,300 indirect jobs.
