Tokyo Foodex Japan 2025, the Asia-Pacific region’s largest agri-food trade show, marked its 50th edition with resounding success, drawing over 90 participating countries and 13,000 international buyers. Italy again emerged as the most represented nation, showcasing a diverse array of products and flavors ahead of Expo Osaka 2025.

A total of 198 Italian companies took part in the event, backed by the Italian Trade Agency, as part of a broader strategy to expand national agri-food exports beyond the €100 billion target in the medium term. The sector has been on a strong growth trajectory, with exports rising by 8% in 2024. Japan, a key market, saw a particularly robust performance, with Italian food and beverage sales (excluding tobacco) approaching the €1 billion mark—an annual increase of 13.6%.

The trade show also served as a platform to reinforce Italy’s positioning in the premium food and wine segment. The presence of Lega Serie A and ambassador Alessandro Del Piero underscored the synergy between business, government, and cultural institutions in promoting the Made in Italy brand on the global stage. Del Piero highlighted the importance of teamwork across sectors to sustain the country’s reputation for quality and excellence in international markets.
