The Italian government has named five new members to the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) board, following a proposal by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. The appointments include Barbara Cimmino, Giuseppe Ferro, Riccardo Garosci, Annalisa Sassi, and Matteo Zoppas (pictured), who was reappointed on the recommendation of Enterprise Minister Adolfo Urso. Zoppas, ITA’s President since February 2023, will continue in the role.
Born in Pordenone in 1974, Zoppas holds a degree in business administration from Milan’s Bocconi University and postgraduate qualifications in lean manufacturing and business administration from CUOA. His career spans roles as an analyst at Mediobanca, a board member at Operation Smile Italia, and a central council member of Confindustria. He also serves as a director at Acqua Minerale San Benedetto.
The farmers’ association Confagricoltura hailed the appointments, describing them as recognition of ITA’s efforts to promote Italian goods abroad. The association pledged continued collaboration with the agency, emphasizing the need to support Italian agricultural producers in expanding into global markets while preserving the quality and prestige of this critical sector.
