The Italian shelf-stable tomato brand La Doria marks the successful conclusion of its 2024 tomato harvest and processing campaign, celebrating a season marked by strong yields and efficient operations. “Working side by side with our agricultural partners has once again been crucial in achieving the set goals,” the company said in a statement.
This year, La Doria Group processed 287,000 tons of fresh tomatoes, with a 15% increase in raw materials processed resulting in a total of 402.8 million units of peeled tomatoes, passata, and pulp.
On the sustainability front, the company achieved significant results:
- Water consumption was reduced to 1,300,000 cubic meters, thanks to recovery and resource optimization measures.
- Efficient energy usage, with 11,750 MWh of energy, part of which was produced through cogeneration and photovoltaic systems.
- Methane consumption was reduced to 8,300,000 cubic meters, thanks to energy efficiency initiatives.
The company’s commitment to a sustainable future continues while maintaining the quality and excellence of Italian tomatoes.
