Texas grocery chain H-E-B opened its first Joe V’s Smart Shop outside of the Houston area last week, with a 55,000-square-foot location in the Wheatland neighborhood of Fort Worth.
The discount concept store, described by H-E-B as having an “innovative price format on offering the best prices,” features a large produce department, meat department, bakery with tortillas, bolillos, pastries, and bread, a Latino cheese selection, among other departments and specialties.
The banner launched in 2010 and now operates 10 locations in the Houston area, along with the new Fort Worth location. The grocer is opening its next Joe V’s Smart Shop in Dallas in the Spring of 2025. San Antonio-based H-E-B operates more than 435 stores across Texas and Mexico.
