The Italian retail group VéGé has clinched three awards at the PLMA’s 2024 International Salute to Excellence Awards for its private label products (pictured). In the Pet Care and Pet Food category, the jury praised the Mini Croccantini Gatto Cucciolo from the Mucho Amor line, noting its appealing aroma, preservative-free composition, and high quality.
VéGé’s private labels also excelled in the Wines category. The Colli del Duca Pignoletto Doc Spumante Brut (Sparkling White category) and the Casale del Duca Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc 2022 (Central Italian Reds category) received Best Value awards. The retailer highlighted that these accolades underscore “the high-quality profile and safety of the entire VéGé private label range, along with our rigorous selection and evaluation of suppliers to ensure excellence.” These factors have driven the group’s growth, which now encompasses 31 member companies, 3,370 stores nationwide, a total sales area of 2,136,369 square meters, and projected 2024 revenues exceeding €15.5 billion.
“Winning three international awards for VéGé’s private label products is a source of immense pride and further validates our strategic choices in selecting co-packers to achieve a blend of high quality and broad accessibility for our customers,” remarked Marco Pozzali, Head of Private Labels at Gruppo VéGé.
