Grana Padano PDO cheese won two medals in the 2022 edition of the International Cheese & Dairy Award. The competition brings together more than 5,000 producers from around the world each year. Grana Padano Riserva won a gold medal and a silver medal in the Best Italian Cheese category.
“We are really proud,” said the Director of the protection Consortium, Stefano Berni, “that the world’s best-known and most consumed PDO cheese, with 5,234,443 wheels produced in 2021 and export sales of 2,240,335 wheels, has been awarded as the best Italian cheese in an international-level competition, with a jury composed of the best experts in the world dairy industry.”
This is the fifth gold medal in the past seven years for Ferrari Giovanni Industria Casearia, founded in 1823, following those obtained in 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
