After closing 2020 with a +82% increase in turnover (to 37 million euros), Tannico – the online Italian wine shop offering over 15,000 Italian labels from 2,500 different wineries – has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Venteàlapropriété (VAP). The latter is a French company founded in 2008, active in the market of premium wines. It closed 2020 with a total turnover of more than 34 million euros.

The purchase of VAP will be carried out thanks to a €32 million capital increase reserved for Tannico’s current shareholders. These include Campari Group, which holds 49% of the shares and has undertaken to subscribe up to 100% of the capital increase. The acquisition of the French company is part of a growth project already started by Tannico.

Venteàlapropriété is specialized in the sale of premium and en primeur wines – products of excellence of the most famous French domaine and châteaux such as Petrus, Château Margaux, Château Palmer, etc. – bookable in preview by customers and delivered after eighteen to twenty-four months of aging in cellar. In addition, VAP offers a selected range of premium spirits.

Marco Magnocavallo, CEO of Tannico, explains that the team of Venteàlapropriété “will continue to do what has been exceptional in the last years allowing Tannico to access a refined selection of French wines which will enrich our products catalog on the Italian market.”
