The renown Italian pasta company De Cecco has joined Filiera Italia, the association that brings together the best of Italian agricultural production. Faced with the Covid-19 emergency consequences but also with the great opportunities that come from the enhancement of Made in Italy F&B, De Cecco and Filiera Italia have decided to start a common path. The goal is to further enhance the high quality Italian durum wheat through supply chain contracts involving an increasing number of national producers. And to become less and less dependent on foreign countries for raw material supplies.
De Cecco, however, has always been a great user of Italian-origin raw materials. In 2020, about 52% of the wheat used by the company, equal to about 160,000 tons, came from Italy: both from the supply chain and direct purchases. The common goal is to increase this share as much as possible.
