The major Polish distribution chain, Biedronka, met yesterday a group of 60 Italian food companies. The meeting was held at Fiere di Parma with a view to approaching Cibus Connect 2019 (10 – 11 April). Biedronka, owned by Jeronimo Martins, has been transformed in recent years from a hard discount into the main Polish supermarket chain. The delegation of the Polish chain is composed of four Category Directors of the following sectors: Fresh, Cold Cuts, Cheeses, Ready Meals and Stable Products.

ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY AND AUTHENTIC ITALIAN

The meeting is part of an agreement conveyed by Italian Trade Agency to promote Made in Italy food products to Polish retailers – under the ‘Authentic Italian’ slogan and organizing three “Italian weeks” from January to June 2019. The goal is to encourage the presence of new Italian suppliers on the shelves of Biedronka.
