Cibus Connect 2019 Warming up the Engine

The annualisation of Cibus, the international trade fair for Made in Italy food, is now complete. Already in its second edition, Cibus Connect 2019 has doubled the number of occupied pavilions, reaching almost the same number of companies exhibiting at Cibus 2018. About 6 months before the opening of Cibus Connect 2019 (at Fiere di Parma, from 10 to 11 April 2019), Italian food companies are confirming their presence, showing that they like the smart formula of this trade show. Just two days, turnkey stands, a large space at the cooking station for tastings that are dedicated to professional visitors and a large Buyers’ lounge for foreign operators, which is useful for business meetings. Hundreds of new food products will be displayed at Cibus Connect, showing the increasing attention to innovation by Italian companies.

THE PARTNERSHIP WITH VINITALY

Moreover, Cibus Connect 2019 (held in odd-numbered years and organised by Fiere di Parma in cooperation with Federalimentare) is strategically scheduled at the same time as Vinitaly, creating a spectacular week of Italian food and wine. Thanks also to the activities of the Italian Trade Agency, thousands of foreign buyers are confirming their visit to Cibus Connect 2019 combined with a special tour of Vinitaly and the main agri-food production districts of Northern Italy.

TALKS AND CONFERENCES AT CIBUS CONNECT 2019

During the two days of Cibus Connect, the whole Italian food supply chain will also present itself within talks and conferences about the most pressing issues of the Italian food industry. Starting with the results and prospects of bilateral trade agreements between Italy, Europe and other countries that are reshaping the exports’ growth thanks to the contribution of Italian entrepreneurs. Without forgetting the supply chain agreements, which are transforming the role and awareness of all the players involved, from the field to the table, also thanks to the new digital technologies. Experts, researchers, and representatives of institutions will talk about these issues, trying to give the sector a shared perspective.

GIVING VALUE TO CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ITALY

Another theme to be addressed during Cibus Connect 2019 will be the enhancement of Central and Southern Italy as a platform for the qualitative and quantitative development of Italian food & beverage. In recent years, these regions have been able to combine extraordinary growth in volume and value. As usual, at Cibus operators will also find hundreds of artisan or semi-industrial food producers present in the Slow Food exhibition area, which will be provided with its own Talks & Cooking Show space.
