Inalca (Cremonini Group), through its subsidiary Inalca Food & Beverage (IF&B), has acquired 60% of the capital of Mille Sapori Plus, a leading operator in the distribution of Italian food products in the Polish foodservice market. This latter is a sector estimated at 6.5 billion euros in value, which continues to grow at a fast pace. According to Augusto Cremonini, CEO of IF&B, with this operation IF&B has the opportunity to develop rapidly in one of the most dynamic European markets, where the demand for excellent products of Italian cuisine is constantly and strongly growing.
Mille Sapori: an Italian history in Poland
Based in Warsaw, Mille Sapori was founded eight years ago by an Italian entrepreneur, Luciano Pavone. He will remain a partner – with 40% of the capital – maintaining the operational management of the business as CEO of the company that sells over 1,300 references of Italian food products. These are distributed with a fleet of Mille Sapori’s own vehicles that reach over a thousand restaurants, with an expected turnover of 88 million Zloty (about 20 million euros) in 2018.
Inalca: acquisition strategy
This operation is the latest in a series of acquisitions aimed at creating a leading company in the international markets for the sale and distribution of Italian catering products around the world, acting as a distribution platform for all those small Italian producers that do not have the possibility to export. The acquisition follows those already carried out by IF&B in Australia, Cape Verde, Thailand, the USA, Malaysia, Mexico, the Canary Islands, and Hong Kong.
