Italy comes in force to Foodex Japan

Foodex Japan is the largest exhibition dedicated to food and drink across the Far East country. Over the 4 days of the exhibition (from 6 to 9 March, at Makuhari Messe 2-1, Nakase, Mihama-ku Chiba-city), about 82,000 buyers from food service, distribution, and trading companies are expected to attend. Attention will be given to the expansion of business opportunities domestically and internationally. Many buyers will also be attending from abroad, and business talks will be held with domestic and international manufacturers. According to organizers, Foodex provides three marketing advantages: it is a gateway to Japan, a gateway to Asia and offers a business networking service.

Italian food exports to Japan

According to ICE ITA – Italian Trade Agency figures, Japan comes in 12th place as for Italian food and beverage exports – and in third place as non-EU country. And this despite the fact that in the first 10 months of 2017 the value of wine and agri-food products’ imports from Italy decreased, compared to 2016, from 495 to 488 million euro.

Italian companies at Foodex Japan

This year, the Italian collective of the ICE – ITA Agency will be organized over an area of 2,060 square meters and will host over 110 Italian companies: it will be the largest foreign collective of Foodex Japan. Inside the Italian pavilion will also be organized a Service Center, on an area of about 40 square meters, to welcome and guide foreign visitors, provide assistance to Italian exhibitors, and carry out additional promotional activities.
