Eataly opens in Stockholm

Eataly Stockholm is built on two floors, it is more than 3,000 square meters large and it is to bring to Sweden for the first time the unique format of the renown high-end Italian food mall chain. The inauguration will take place on Saturday 17 February at 1 pm, in a symbolic place of the Swedish capital: Biblioteksgatan, in the former premises of the historic Röda Kvarn cinema.

A unique Italian food experience

The offer is very wide. It includes a market with high quality products like fresh handmade pasta, salami, cheese, fish, meat, and a bakery with the best assortment of pizza, focaccia, and other traditional Italian bakery products made with organic flour. There is also a rich selection of sauces, condiments, extra-virgin olive oil, and desserts. Particular attention is also dedicated to the search for the best local products and the unique stories of their producers. Every day Eataly’s restaurants offer an authentic Italian gastronomic experience, and Stockholm will be no exception. From meat to local fish, from traditional Neapolitan pizza to handmade pasta, guests will be allowed to enjoy a wide range of dishes of different regional traditions, always made with fresh ingredients. The counter of homemade chocolate and ice-cream are dedicated to particularly gourmand customers. Moreover, the School of Eataly offers the opportunity to learn from experts how to prepare Italian dishes. Finally, Eataly’s cooking lessons lead participants, young and old, on a journey to discover traditional recipes with Italian and local ingredients.

Bridges

Every Eataly store in the world is dedicated to a specific topic. Eataly Stockholm is dedicated to ‘bridges’. Stockholm is distributed over 14 islands connected by 57 bridges. At Eataly we love islands but we prefer bridges, which connect and unite. We are all islands, but we need bridges stated Eataly founder Oscar Farinetti. A new opening is another important step for us – added Eataly Executive President Andrea Guerra. What we are opening in Stockholm is a shop to love, which satisfies the eyes and gives emotions. Above all, it allows us to make a jump in a country which is very different from Italy. Sweden, one of the most welfare-oriented countries in the world, will be ‘visited’ for the first time by more than 1,500 Italian products that are ambassadors of our food and wine culture and quality of life.
