Valbona – the 53 years old Italian company based in Veneto specialized in processed vegetables – presented many innovations at Marca 2018, which is the most important Italian and European exhibition dedicated to private label. Both in Italy and abroad, private labels represent 85% of Valbona’s total production. A value that can be seen in more than 500 private label products and over 50 brands.
Italian Food Awards 2017
In addition to being present in all the vegetables products categories – from pickles to condiments, from olives to grilled vegetables, to sauces and pesto – in 2013 Valbona entered the world of fresh vegetables with a production that is currently made of Flan di Verdure and Veganette line. The latter is the vegetables cold cuts product that has been recently awarded the Italian Food Awards 2017 at Anuga.
New products
We brought many innovations to Marca 2018, paying particular attention to the categories that are gaining more interest from consumers such as premium products, organic, free-from, and products that enhance regional and territorial characteristics explains Valbona Sales Director Marco Pilenga. In recent years, our production has been enriched with new lines able to satisfy the consumers needs. For example Valbìo, that is our brand dedicated to organic references, or the Vegan line that includes pesto and sauces without animal-based ingredients, and the premium range line made with high-quality local products. Valbona – adds Pilenga – has been able to renew the pickles sector as well introducing the ‘Accenti’ line that is characterized by the combination between vegetables and a series of particular kinds of vinegar.
Success abroad
Valbona is also achieving a great commercial success abroad. By now the company gets about 30% of its total sales on international markets, where private labels play a very important role. Among its many products, the most appreciated abroad are Pestos and Antipasti as they recall the typical Italian taste.
The Colors of Nature
If it is true that colors affect our lives, this must be even more true at the dinner table. It is with these premises that “I Colori della Natura” (the Colors of Nature) were born. They are the new Valbona campaign designed to present the latest company’s products. Twice a year, just before the summer and winter seasons, Valbona brings to market five references inspired by the five colors of nature: Sweet and sour Cipolla Bianca di Margherita PGI for the “white” color; pickled Friggitelli Grigliati for the “green” color; Pesto di Carote e Zucca for the “orange” color; pickled Datterini Grigliati for the “red” color; Caponata di Melanzane for the “purple” color.
