Well before promoting the actual product, Oleificio Zucchi from Cremona is trying to spread the gospel of extra virgin olive oil. A true specialist of this segment, Zucchi tells about the art of blending extra virgin olive oil, that is the union of different olive oil types that differ for provenance and characteristics. Over the years, explains Marco Bonati, sales director of Oleificio Zucchi’s Consumer Division,we have consolidated several established relationships in the markets in which we operate. We have also started collaborations with operators of other segments. After all, this aspect is extremely important for those who, like us, sell many products both under their own brand and for private labels. Within very large markets, such as the United States, Canada, China, and Japan, having multiple clients that allow us to comprehensively cover the whole market is essential. Our best performing countries are currently Japan, Northern Europe, and the United States.
Sustainability and transparency
The strategic corporate priorities also include encouraging the Italian olive oil sector to embark on a path that leads to sustainability and transparency by focusing on high quality and traceability. Not surprisingly, the company recently launched the first 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil from a certified sustainable supply chain, establishing itself as a trailblazer for those competitors who adopt this tool. Meanwhile, among the company’s International best sellers are also traceable oils, sunflower oil and blended oil for Asian markets. We are planning various activities in different countries, depending on the customers or the distribution chains, continues Marco Bonati, however, the participation in the main international food and beverage fairs are the best places to develop new opportunities. Exports, after all, are an important element in our growth, as is sharing our precious all-Italian know-how: the art of knowing how to make oil from raw materials of excellence. We are very proud that the international markets appreciate our quality and are very attentive to the peculiarities that have characterized our products for over 200 years.
