Booming demand for Italian food&wine products in China. According to an analysis made on the basis of Istat data (for the first ten months of 2015), Italian exports of agri-food products to the Asian market grew by 22%, exceeding 400 million euro for the first time.
Over the next few years, the growth prospects for Italian firms in the Chinese market will be enhanced by the protocol on requirements concerning plant protection for exporting Italian citrus products and the memorandum of understanding regarding the quality of olive oil, which is currently being finalized in Beijing by the Health Minister Beatrice Lorenzin on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The made in Italy product that is most exported to China is wine, however, the olive oil, fruit, and vegetable sectors have great potential.
