June 7th is the official opening date of the new Pedon plant in Cairo with a production line dedicated to the Alubia bean. The aim is to reach a 25-30% share and from there to implement new production lines. “By the end of the year – says Remo Pedon, Pedon CEO, speaking at Expo 2015 at the Intesa Sanpaolo Hall – we expect to export about 12 thousand tons of Alubia beans with a turnover in terms of sales from 13 million to 14 million euro. The management of this area, in fact, will allow us to open new markets to the countries of the Middle East and the Mediterranean.”
The decision to build a production plant in Egypt also meets the needs of the company, which expects to close 2015 with a turnover of 100 million euro, to further raise production standards. We export to 45 countries around the world, we operate in five continents with our production, constantly striving for economic and social development of the territory, with full respect of natural resources and local culture, promoting a correct and healthy eating style. These are the principles that have characterized us for over thirty years, and we are presenting, a winning business model, from the seed to the shelf at the Expo in Milan” – concluded Pedon.
