Two Uk retailers are building export sales for their own brands. Waitrose is expanding in Africa with an arrangement with Food Lovers Market to sell Waitrose goods in Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Lesotho, Reunion, Mauritius, Swaziland, Malawi, Botswana and Uganda. It has also made a deal with Kwatson’s Maxmart stores to supply shops in Ghana with about 300 Waitrose products. Waitrose is exporting its private label and manufacturer brand goods to more than 50 countries, including South Africa, Barbados, Bermuda, India, Trinidad, Saudi Arabia and St. Lucia.

Tesco has entered into a partnership with Cozmo, a supermarket retailer in Jordan, to launch its private label range in the market. Cozmo will stock Tesco Finest, Tesco and Tesco Everyday Value brands comprising of frozen vegetables, ready-made meals, ice creams, cereals, canned goods, nuts, confectionery, oil and sauces.
