A total of 18,5 million bottles of Santa Margherita have been marketed in 2014, with export sales up to 9,2% over the previous year. The Vicenza based company, owned by Marzotto family, currently controls the brands Cà del Bosco, Kettmeir and the Tuscan consortium of Chianti wine makers and is expected to further increase its production capacity. Indeed last years revenues climbed up to 7,8% with a registered net profit of 15,1 million euros compared to 14,9 million euros of the previous year. “This success – says Gaetano Marzotto, president of the group – is the reward for a well planned strategy and results from strong investments set in ten years. Starting from 2008 to this time, the total amount of investment engaged in Italy market is more than 65 million euros”. Actually the goal is to reach 200 million revenues in the next few years.
Nowadays Santa Margherita aims to open new markets, through a growth strategy based on two pillars: the optimization of the existing vineyards and the expansion through acquisitions. As consequence the group will be investing up to 30 million euros over next years in its wineries in Italy as part of its plan to reach the goal of 200 million euros revenues. The 2014 was a year of confirmation of of better earning in the domestic market in terms of volume but the wine makers are now heartened by the appeal in export markets. Moreover it will reinforce its range of products in the Usa market, where the company wants to increase thirst of Italian wine.
