Market uncertainty is a reality for everyone, the players that differentiate themselves, however, are those who successfully adopt strategies that promote growth. “I believe,” states Giuseppe Cantone, commercial director at D&D Italia, “that even when the market is static, companies, above all those who make shrewd investments through acquisitions that allow them to expand their product portfolio and streamline production processes, can still make the most of opportunities that come their way. The acquisition of Logrò, a company based in the Trentino region and specializing in the production of funghi trifolati (a speciality made of mixed sautéed mushrooms), has allowed us to respond and acquire market share, even outside our key areas of strength. We are now undergoing a comprehensive integration process that will see D’Amico adopt an exciting new brand image by September this year”.
International sales are also looking good for D&D: “Exports are definitely a key way for us to expand our business,” Cantone continues, “Our exports grew by 27% in 2013 and they now make up over 10% of our turnover. Naturally we will continue to invest at an international level so that we can continue to take every available opportunity”.
