Francesco Avanzini, General Manager of Conad, has been appointed President of AgeCore, the strategic alliance of European retailers founded in 2015, which includes Colruyt Group (Belgium), Conad (Italy), Coop (Switzerland), Eroski (Spain), and Kaufland (Germany). Last year, the total combined turnover generated by AgeCore members reached approximately €120 billion.
Initially created to define commercial agreements with major fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) multinationals, AgeCore has progressively expanded its scope over the years. In fact, the alliance has extended its mandate to private label development projects and launched several working groups in the logistics sector. In the coming months, discussion and collaboration will also be extended to rechnologies related to consumer payment systems, technological innovation, experiences in retail media.
In this journey, AgeCore’s ultimate strategic objective is evolving from a commercial negotiation operator into an association active across various strategic areas of modern European retail.
Duration of the mandate: Avanzini’s term as President of AgeCore will last for one year, concluding in June 2027.
