Coppa di Parma PGI market has demonstrated significant resilience and dynamism, closing 2025 with a total consumption value of €78 million. This positive performance is largely driven by a double-digit surge in the pre-sliced segment, which has become a cornerstone of the product’s commercial success, recording a remarkable 26% growth compared to 2024 performances.

The pre-sliced segment as a growth engine

With 525,000 kilograms of product destined for pre-sliced packaging, this category now accounts for 38% of the total turnover, reaching a value of €30 million. This shift reflects evolving consumer habits, favoring convenience without compromising on the organoleptic quality and traditional aromas of this Italian charcuterie specialty. The Consortium for the Protection of Coppa di Parma PGI, which safeguards the product and represents 21 member companies, notes that this trend highlights a renewed trust from both the supply chain and end consumers.

International expansion and market trends

International demand has been a critical catalyst, with exports now exceeding 30% of total sales and surpassing 700,000 kilograms. While Europe remains the primary destination, with France leading as the top market, Canada has solidified its role as a key hub for trade outside the European Union.

Fabrizio Aschieri, President of the Consortium, expressed satisfaction with these results: “We are extremely pleased with the excellent response to our pre-sliced lines. The tray format offers various advantages for the end customer, particularly in terms of convenience and quality preservation. Looking ahead, we must invest further in international promotion to increase the global awareness of Coppa di Parma PGI excellence.”
