It’s official: Big Mamma is coming to Dubai. The Italian hospitality group—renowned for its exuberant trattorias and bold culinary identity—is taking its first steps beyond Europe with the launch of Gloria Osteria at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC this December.
The new restaurant represents a significant milestone for the group. “After ten years, thirty trattorias, and seven countries across Europe, we’re opening a new chapter of our journey—and it’s a golden one,” the company announced.
Born in Milan’s Brera district, Gloria Osteria is an ode to 1970s Milanese glamour. The design evokes the era’s decadence with “velvet banquettes, monumental chandeliers, golden mirrors, and a sweeping terrace overlooking the city.” The menu promises a quintessentially Italian celebration: “Handmade pasta, generous sauces, fine ingredients, and that unmistakable dolce vita flair,” the group said.
Opening in Dubai marks Big Mamma’s first foray into the Middle East—a strategic expansion for a brand celebrated for reshaping casual dining across Europe. “From day one, our mission has been simple: to change people’s lives with food,” the founders stated. “Now, we’re bringing that same warmth, authenticity, and joy to one of the world’s most dazzling cities.” The group closed its announcement with a tribute to its team: “Good luck to our amazing Squadra opening this new chapter—you’re gonna rock it!”
