La Doria Marks 70 Years of Excellence

La Doria, the Italian group renowned for its tomato preserves, marked its 70th anniversary in 2024. The milestone reflects a trajectory of product diversification, market expansion, and relentless innovation, all underpinned by a commitment to people and the environment. The slogan ‘1954-2024: 70 Years of Italy in the World’ encapsulates the company’s journey from a small factory to a global industrial leader.

Founded in 1954 by Diodato Ferraioli and Anna La Mura in Angri (Salerno), La Doria now operates in 60 countries and reported revenues exceeding €1.2 billion in 2023. What began as a modest tomato processing operation has evolved into an international powerhouse. “Their passion and values—ethics, innovation, and a deep connection to the land—still guide us today,” says the group’s current CEO Antonio Ferraioli (pictured).

The company entered a new growth phase in 2022, when the investment firm Investindustrial acquired a majority stake, while the Ferraioli family retained a minority share. This move bolstered La Doria’s international presence and set the stage for ambitious future expansion.

Among the group’s recent achievements are the acquisition of Clas, which strengthened its position in the ready-made sauces market, particularly pesto, and the purchase of the pasta division from Pastificio Di Martino (now La Doria Pasta PL), making it a direct pasta producer.

Our mission is clear: to grow as a global company while staying true to our Italian roots. We will continue investing in talent, diversity, and the potential of our resources,” concludes Ferraioli. “Our partnership with Investindustrial has laid out a strategy to help us expand further and become a consolidating force in our industry.”
