After the opening of the plant of semi-finished products of the Afanasovo confectionary industry in Russia, Zuegg has decided to import its expansion strategy to international markets, in particular to the other shore of Atlantic Ocean. The Verona based company is opening a new branch in Massachusetts to enhance its sales in the competitive American market. Meanwhile, according to the results published by the company, the 2013 financial year closed with a group turnover of 257 million euros, an increase of 11% compared with the 232 million in 2012. Italian sales totalled 167.2 million. “Today there is much talk about China and India as new markets for Italian agribusiness, which remain, of course, countries of potential interest, however we intend to follow other paths, those related to the need for quality and well-being,” said Oswald Zuegg. “That is why, instead we are targeting North America, starting from US, and we have just concluded an important agreement with a big American retailer thanks to which, from the second half of the year, we will bring Zuegg jams to the US”.
