The premium bakery and convenience food sector is experiencing a significant shift as the Italian “pinsa” phenomenon accelerates its commercial expansion into the United States. Speaking from the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in New York, Di Marco CEO announced the official launch of a new retail pack designed to capture the rapidly growing at-home consumer segment.
The strategic pivot into mass retail follows a major milestone for the brand, which secured the prestigious Italian Food Award USA 2026 for Innovation for its retail-ready packaging. Long a staple of foodservice and restaurants, pinsa aims to replicate its European market boom by positioning itself as a premium, highly digestible alternative to traditional pizza. Utilizing a distinct formulation of rice, soy, wheat, and sourdough subjected to an extended fermentation process, the product enters major US supermarkets, aiming to capitalize on rising consumer demand for lighter, health-conscious specialty foods.
