Lombardy produces many types of cured meats, ten of which can boast Pdo and Pgi certifications. The sector is worth a total of 342 million euros, and Bresaola della Valtellina Pgi is standing out. With its 241 million euros, this specialty of the Italian charcuterie ranks fourth among meat products, but also occupies 11th place in the ranking of Italy’s best Pgi foods. In Italy, certified meat products in 2021 are worth 1,933 million euros, showing a 4.6% year on year growth.
