Italy’s Paluani has been acquired by Sperlari Bakery, the only bidder that submitted its proposal to the Court of Verona to acquire the Verona-based confectionery company’s business unit. The acquisition includes the plant, trademarks, licenses, and production lines used in the preparation of typical seasonal sweets, especially Pandoro.
The total price set to take over Paluani from Cremona-based Sperlari – a leading company in the candy and nougat segment, controlled by the German group Katjes International Gmbh – is 8 million euros. The offer calls for the absorption of 48 employees.
