Wegman’s private label, Italian Classics, is a partnership with Bertagni according to the American retailer’s website. Together they developed a distinctive line of pastas. On Wegman’s website, it describes the partnership with Bertagni as, “The artisan pastas they craft for us have generous fillings of authentic Italian ingredients wrapped in a very delicate pasta.” The private label aims to “savor the taste of Italy” just as it is printed on the Italian Classics label. Consumers can find various imported pastas under Wegman’s private labels- Amore, Italian Classics, and Wegmans Organic.
In addition to the artisanal selection of dry pasta which are products of Italy, Wegmans also offers a large selection of refrigerated pasta. The most impressive finding, Italian Food spotted was the olive oil available for sale under the Italian Classics label. The olive oil from Tuscany has the Protected Geographical Indication label. And the olive oil from Sicily and Campagna has the Protected Designation Origin label. On the bottom of the shelf, Bono Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil was spotted for sale.
Wegmans is known for its selection of gourmet cheeses and trains staff to know just which cheese is perfect for any occasion. Under the Italian section of cheese at the Tysons Corner location authentic imported Italian cheese is for sale among Italian cheese produced in Wisconsin.
