Miglior Prodotto Food 2021: the Winners

Sixteen products won this year’s edition of the annual award for the innovation within the Italian F&B sector. Discover the results of the online awarding ceremony that took place on March 31

Same format, new products. However, innovation is always the protagonist of the seventh edition of the Miglior Prodotto Food 2021 (Best Food Product) award. From the selection of 100% Italian local raw materials to the proposal of new recipe combinations; from the sustainability of the production chain to the attention to wellness and health, up to innovative packaging and format solutions. Italianfood.net believes that it is very interesting for international buyers to discover the winners of Miglior Prodotto Food 2021.

Here are some of the drivers that, in the last two years, have brought to the shelves of the large-scale retail trade the 122 new references that participated in Miglior Prodotto Food 2021. Nominated by 77 Italian F&B companies within 12 categories, the new products were evaluated on the basis of the data collected by NielsenIQ – innovation rate and sales trends – and the qualitative judgments of a jury composed of industry and retail managers. After the first selection phase, five top brands in each product category were subjected to a Bva Doxa survey conducted on a representative panel of the Italian population. Among the elements considered we can find knowledge of the products, possible purchase based on price, relevance, uniqueness, taste, quality, innovation content, practicality, attention to the environment, and packaging.

Just as last year, the awarding ceremony took place online during Food Match 2021. The event was broadcasted on Food channels on March 31. Sixteen prizes were awarded to the winning companies: 12 for each respective category and four special awards (Packaging, Innovation, Sustainability, Best Audio Campaign).
