At PLMA 2018 in Amsterdam, GSI (Grandi Salumifici Italiani) presented a full range of Italian charcuterie, on display for international buyers to see and appreciate. In this interview with Italianfood.net Davide Ponticelli, Export director at the Italian company specialized in typical authentic cured meat and cold cuts, talks about the product range of GSI. We divided our stand between Private Labels and branded products – said Ponticelli – as our product range is segmented, starting with the more convenient items for discount retailers and up to take-away and premium products. A few years ago we launched in Italy the LiberaMente concept, by which we try to combine the tradition of Italian charcuterie with less-fats and less-salt recipes. This healthy trend is going very well in Italy, and we are trying to bring it into the international markets.
