The Food Summit, the prestigious event dedicated to the businesses and top managers of the consumer goods industry, hosts its fourth edition. The event is organized by Gruppo Food and sponsored by Banca Intesa Sanpaolo, Alix Partners, Fiere di Parma, Number 1, Finservice, and Consorzio Italia del Gusto, with Parmacotto, Saclà, Benvolio 1938 and Acqua Minerale San Benedetto as technical sponsors. The Food Summit takes place today at the fascinating Teatro Regio in Parma, the historical opera house where, from 5pm, institutional leaders, top managers, business owners of the F&B industry, financial officials, celebrities, and buyers from international retail groups come together to participate in an exclusive event.

Food Summit 2018: main topics on the agenda

The Food Summit 2018 will discuss the expansion of Made in Italy in three regions: North America, Middle and Far East, and Europe. The event will address many important issues, including the escalation in trade tensions with the United States, non-tariff barriers, and the initiatives to support authentic Italian products (with ICE president Michele Scannavini and European Parliament member Paolo De Castro). The Food Summit will also address the best export strategies to grow internationally; establishing relations with international retail chains; receiving support from financial partners to boost growth; acquisitions and the creation of consortia and associations to preside over global markets and reach critical mass; the online channel to sell without foreign intermediaries, and the participation in international trade shows and events. The evening event will animate a lively debate among participants, with final remarks by the renowned art critic and writer Philippe Daverio.
