Italian vendors’ export exceeds €250 million thanks to Amazon Marketplace

Italian companies are exporting more and more this year on Amazon.it Marketplace. Total export sales are expected to grow on this platform of 50% in 2016, by more than €250 million. Over 40% of Italian companies that are active on Amazon.it Marketplace export their products, and their number has more than doubled compared to 2015. In fact, half of all products delivered by Amazon worldwide are sold by Marketplace vendors. An independent research by Keystone Strategy states that 5.700 workers are employed by Italian vendors related with Amazon.it Marketplace. “Gone are the days when products were sold only to customers from the same town, area or country”, says Francois Saugier, Vice President of Amazon Seller Services in Europe. “Today, companies of any size can easily sell their products to customers across Europe and the rest of the world. We are also seeing a significant increase in the number of Italian companies which take full advantage of this opportunity”.

THE RANGE OF SELLING SERVICES – Amazon has created a set of tools to help Italian companies to export their products across Europe and the rest of the world. It offers a translation operating support and a worldwide delivery and distribution service. So that companies can use Amazon’s eleven website in seven different languages to sell their goods worldwide, reaching hundreds of millions customers. Export record results come also from Amazon’s Pan-European Program, launched in April 2016. By this service Amazon stores, picks up, packs up and delivers products to customers on behalf of vendors who can sell across Europe, paying only for the orders’ management fees in the country of destination. Amazon’s Logistic services also help vendors to grow their business making products available through Amazon Prime – a direct access to millions of Amazon’s most loyal customers – and benefiting from Amazon’s appreciated customer service. In Italy, the number of companies which benefit from the Amazon Logistic program advantages has more than doubled (+140%) last year. The adoption of this service contributes to growth in the Marketplace vendors’ business and export, while allowing for saving costs.
