Mutti, the Italian tomato maker, is currently greening its supply chain, evaluating new potential acquisitions in the American market but also in Europe. Francesco Mutti, the president of the company, officially said that, “We are evaluating the opportunity for new deals, for example, potential acquisitions in the U.S. but also in Europe.” The company expects sales from the business of pealed tomatoes and sauces to double by 2016, topping a new record.
As data shows, the company’s sales have achieved a double-digit growth over the last few years. In particular, revenues increased from 11 million euro up to 230 million euro over the last 20 years, while production increased from 30 billion tonnes up to 300 billion tonnes during the same time period.
