Italian food ingredients leader Nexture has announced the acquisition of La Crema, a Dubai-based specialist in chocolate, confectionery, and pastry ingredients. This strategic move, finalized on September 21, 2026, marks a significant milestone in Nexture’s international expansion, providing the group with a direct manufacturing presence in the high-growth Middle East region.

Expanding global industrial capabilities

With this latest deal, Nexture continues its robust buy-and-build strategy. Since 2021, the company has transformed into a global powerhouse, now operating 30 factories worldwide and supporting a vast array of food and beverage market segments including bakery, dairy, and plant-based alternatives. The acquisition of La Crema follows recent purchases of Frulact and Sipral Padana, bringing the company’s estimated annual revenues to approximately €1.2 billion.

Synergies and future growth

Valerie-Diele Braun, CEO of Nexture, described La Crema as a natural fit, highlighting its rich and diversified chocolate offering. The integration allows Nexture to broaden its portfolio with specialized items such as cream fillings, chocolate chips, and ice cream solutions. Mr. Bilal Khalife, founder of La Crema, will continue to work closely with the group to unlock the next phase of development. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, pending customary conditions.
