Italy’s leading confectionery manufacturers closed 2025 with strong revenue figures and accelerating international expansion, leveraging flexible manufacturing, strategic product innovation, and targeted retail strategies to tap into evolving global consumer habits.

Laica achieved €106 million in revenue for 2025, confirming the international scope of its commercial operations. Overseas markets now generate approximately 50% of the company’s total revenue, led by Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Alongside its branded confectionery portfolio, private label and B2B operations drive significant volume, supported by fully customizable recipes, formats, and packaging.

In international channels, key formats such as 1-kilogram praline bags and 100-gram chocolate nets maintain strong demand. For 2026, Laica aims to deepen its international presence by introducing new filled pralines, contemporary packaging designs for legacy collections, and country-specific ranges, anchored by process simplification, packaging reduction, and operational efficiency.

Luigi Zàini posted €84 million in revenue for 2025, up from €80 million in 2024. While the Italian domestic market accounts for 60% of sales, exports now cover more than 80 countries, led by Canada, key Asian markets—including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Japan—the Middle East, Europe, the Balkans, Egypt, and Turkey. Growth in international trade is backed by Halal, Kosher, Rainforest, Fairtrade, and Cocoa Horizons certifications.

Rigoni di Asiago consolidated its position as the second-largest player in Italy’s sweet spreads market during 2025. Its flagship brand, Nocciolata, grew 14.1% by value and 12% by volume, elevating its market value share to 7.2%. Circana household data recorded penetration exceeding 1.8 million families, boosted by a 20-gram compostable single-serve format. Value growth continued into 2026, rising 5.3% between January and July, led by L’Originale and La Dark Senza Latte as organic shelf rotation offset reduced promotional activity. In France—Rigoni di Asiago’s top export destination—Nocciolata recorded €39.2 million in sell-out value, up 6.9% by value and 9.1% by volume, while its cocoa-free white spread, La Bianca, saw surging demand. The company will support its European expansion with a major back-to-school television campaign launching in France before rolling out to Italy and Belgium, prioritizing new retail footprint in Eastern Europe, with Poland as a primary target.
